My latest Resources for the Journey recommendation is Get Your Marriage On (GYMO).

GYMO is a wonderful, multifaceted resource for married couples. This Christian ministry is devoted to helping couples build stronger, more connected marriages through podcasts, articles, weekly emails, and their Intimately Us app. What I appreciate most is that their content is authentic, practical, and grounded in a genuine desire to help marriages grow and thrive.

We discovered this resource early in our healing journey, and I am so grateful we did.

As I’ve shared before, it felt as though we were building an entirely new marriage after everything that happened. Neither of us wanted to return to our old habits or the unhealthy patterns that had brought us to such a painful place. We wanted something dramatically different. It was “go big or go home” time. No more avoiding difficult conversations. No more burying feelings. No more pretending everything was fine. We wanted a clean slate and a healthier foundation.

In many ways, that’s exactly what Get Your Marriage On helped us begin to build.

Through their podcasts and other resources, we heard from couples who had faced struggles in their own marriages, as well as counselors and experts who offered practical wisdom and biblical encouragement. We learned how important intentionality is in marriage and how easily even healthy couples can drift apart when they stop investing in one another.

They also weren’t afraid to address topics that many couples avoid, including ourselves.  Topics like communication, emotional connection, sexual intimacy, unmet expectations, insecurities, and the importance of honesty and vulnerability. Those conversations helped us better understand not only each other, but ourselves.  We’ve grown so much because of this ministry.  We’ve had so many incredibly difficult and uncomfortable conversations with each other but because of all that we have learned we were able to navigate them well, and come out closer and deeper because of it.

As with any resource we recommend, we encourage you to measure everything against Scripture and use your own discernment. But if you’re looking for practical, Christ-centered encouragement to strengthen your marriage, know that Get Your Marriage On has been an incredible blessing to us  and pray that it could be for you as well.
